Mr. Porter is the founder, President and principal shareholder of Four P Investments, Inc., an oil & gas company established in 1996 that currently has interests in approximately 400 producing properties in five states. Mr. Porter also serves as President of Sendero Energy, Inc., which he co-founded in 2002. Sendero operates and manages oil and gas assets for Mr. Porter’s affiliated companies and other partners.
During his 35-year career in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Porter has been involved in the financing, acquisition or sale of over $3 billion of oil and gas properties. He has worked for Mobil Oil Co., two independent exploration and production companies in Dallas and has served as Vice President for Wells Fargo Bank, Union Bank of California and Compass Bank, as either an appraisal engineer or lending officer.
Achievements and Other Details
- Mr. Porter is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Dallas Petroleum Club, where he has served on the Board of Directors, Sigma Iota Epsilon, a national management honor society, and is a life member of the Dallas Safari Club.
- He graduated with a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1983 and received an MBA from the University of Dallas in 1991.
- Mr. Porter and his wife,Gayle, are co-founders of the Four P Foundation, established in 2008, to benefit both local and international charities in the areas of health and education. The foundation supports between 10 and 12 deserving organizations per year.
